EDPAC International Ltd is your partner for innovative air conditioning solutions. Founded almost 50 years ago, the company manufactures a complete range of close control, air handling and heat recovery systems, which are all available with the latest most energy efficient technology, at its modern facilities in Carrigaline and Newmarket, Co. Cork.

EDPAC is a proven name in the manufacture and design of industrial and commercial air conditioning products, specialising in data centre design, data centre infrastructure, precision air conditioning (CRAC), free cooling chillers, computer room environmental monitoring, commercial air conditioning design, rooftop packages and air handling units. It provides innovative energy saving and free cooling solutions for data centres, including free cooling air handling and free cooling computer room systems. Direct and indirect options are both available.

These home grown, world class data centre cooling systems allow easy access to primary components. Options available include: modular design 5 to 500kW; high efficiency plate or thermal wheel exchanger; direct fresh air free cooling using induced external ambient air; indirect air to air free cooling using high efficiency heat exchangers; air to fluid free cooling using dry-coolers or free-cooling chillers feeding high efficiency close control units; high efficiency direct expansion units using EC fan and VSD compressor technology connected to air cooled outdoor condensers.

“We offer excellence in engineering and efficiency,” EDPAC’s Business Development Manager David Bourke explains.

“We design and manufacture a full range of precision air conditioning equipment for the computer, telecommunications, speciality storage and building service markets. EDPAC has been supplying products to Global customer base for nearly 50 years . Data centre design has become something of a speciality for us as that’s where the demand for our services is greatest. We can build state-of-the-art design solutions around a customer’s individual requirements where necessary. In other words, we offer complete customised solutions.

“My role within the company involves promoting our products and liaising with consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, air conditioning contractors and key end users. It’s an exciting time for EDPAC which continues to go from strength to strength on all fronts.

”EDPAC has provided air conditioning systems to numerous blue chip companies here in Ireland, including Facebook, Digital Realty, Google, Apple, EMC, Eir, IBM, Microsoft and Dataplex. Its list of clients also includes Odeon and Omniplex Cinemas, the HSE and the OPW.

“We have customers in both the private and public sectors,” David continues.

“Because our air handling units are HTM compliant, we have got a lot of work in hospitals such as St. James’, Temple Street Children’s Hospital, Cork University Hospital and Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. Another reason why customers choose us is for our excellent aftersales service. We’re strongly focused on ongoing service and maintenance. In this regard, we provide a 24/7 nationwide service.”

EDPAC initially specialised in computer room air conditioning before branching into air handling units, air treatment units, heat recovery systems and efficient radiator systems. Nowadays, the firm employs over 75 staff directly and many more at a contract and subcontractor level at its manufacturing facilities in Carrigaline and Newmarket.

While EDPAC has many customers in South America, the Middle East, the UK and mainland Europe, “The Irish market still accounts for a significant proportion of our overall business. It’s actually a growing market for us thanks largely to the influx of foreign investment. The technology sector is particularly buoyant.

In summary, EDPAC International Ltd is a successful Irish company which has firmly established itself as the leading air conditioning solutions provider on the market.
