John Reddy appointed as Ecocem Group Quality and Innovation Application Manager

The Ecocem Group, Europe’s premier producer of high performance, low carbon cement, have  announced the appointment of John Reddy as Group Quality and Innovation Application Manager. 

John has been instrumental in his time in Ecocem, assisting in the implementation of ISO 9001 and  implementing quality assurance laboratories acrossthe group. His contribution to the cement industry  has been well documented with his master’s thesis “Investigating the thermal activation of GGBS  concrete” being published at the 9th International Concrete Conference and subsequently winning the  Irish Concrete Society, Sean DeCourcy student award in 2017 for this work. 

As Ecocem develops further across an increasing variety of markets and applications, John will ensure  that quality remains paramount across all of the group’s operations. Leading a growing technical team  across Europe including Ireland, UK, Sweden, Benelux and France, John is tasked with developing the  innovative product pipeline for the group and assisting with product commercialisation across  Europe.  

John’s appointment marks a significant milestone in the Irish headquartered group as Ecocem prepare  to launch the fruits of a seven-year investment plan in innovation, through a series of new product  launches and partnerships. 

Conor O’Riain, Group Managing Director adds; “John joined Ecocem Ireland in 2004, and has worked  his way up through the group across various technical roles. His undeniable commitment to Ecocem  and the cement industry is unquestionable and this new role signifies the growth of Ecocem  products across Europe. His appointment marks his advocacy to improving the standard of GGBS  cement production across the industry”. 

John is a chartered Engineer and is a graduate of Civil Engineering in TU Bolton St. and holds a MSc in  Advanced Concrete Technology from Queens University, Belfast. John is also a CSR community liaison  officer and a board member of Ringsend College in Dublin.
