Davy’s Lawnmower & Tool Hire Centre has been a thriving part of the construction, DIY, maintenance and ancillary services scene in Mayo and the North West since its establishment at the turn of the millennium.
Founded by company principal, David Langan back in 2000, the business operates from modern premises situated in the Behy Road Business Park, just off the Sligo Road on the outskirts of Ballina Town.
From this prime location the company is perfectly situated to service all of the North West and beyond, which includes an extensive customer base throughout Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal and beyond.
Over two decades, the Davy’s Lawnmower & Tool Hire story has been one of consistent growth and expansion and is now a major employer with a staff of 20 persons.
As David Langan himself comments: “our success can be attributed to the support of our loyal staff, customers and supplies. From one pick-up van and one staff member, we have thankfully grown to offer a complete service from hire to sales and service guided by the priority to always deliver customer satisfaction”.
Today, the Davy’s team works flat out to meet the ever-growing equipment and service demands of the company with a willingness always to invest in the most modern equipment.
This policy has been evident in its long-standing commitment to Komatsu, with a range of hire-ready machines available from mini and midi-size diggers upwards to heavy-duty excavators used on major construction and civil works contracts.
Latest additions to their Komatsu fleet are five excavators supplied to them by Komatsu distributor, McHale Plant Sales of Birdhill and Rathcoole. Configured to meet a varied and demanding range of applications for which clients rely on Davy’s to meet, they include two PC30MR-5 and two PC55MR-5 midi excavators and one larger, even more robust short tail swing PC138US-11 model.
Overseeing their delivery, McHale Plant Sales Komatsu expert, Pat Shanahan described the purchase as “yet another indication of the foresight, commitment and ambition that has underpinned the management approach of David Langan and his team and the growth of Davy’s Lawnmower & Tool Hire since its establishment”.
Away from heavy plant, the company is loyal to its mission of ‘hiring the smallest to the largest items and to looking after the needs of everyone who comes to its premises’.
In addition to its rental trade, Davy’s also has an extensive range of products for sale, varying from items as tiny as a drill bit to large sit-and-ride mowers, all backed by a very efficient repair and after-sales service. Tool hire and garden equipment stocked include Masport, Castlegarden, EFCO, Honda, Kawasaki, Solo and Fuji Robin.
