CosiHomes Insulation Services is the retrofit insulation arm of the Derchil Group, a name that has been synonymous with the Irish Plastering Contracting sector for over 20 years.

Set up just as the recession hit in 2008 by Dermot Byrne, CosiHomes has established itself as the market leading home insulation provider in Ireland.

The company’s mission is to bring affordability to all clients. It does this by using the most energy efficient insulation products available on the market, with a strong emphasis on life expectancy.

“Our aim is to bring affordability back to the private market,” CosiHomes Managing Director, Thomas Woods explains.

“During the recession, money was scarce and people were looking for the best value. They got that –and the best possible insulation solutions – from CosiHomes.”

Based in Ashbourne, Co. Meath, CosiHomes is the country’s largest External Wall Insulation company. The range of services provided includes External and Internal insulation; Attic and Cavity Wall Insulation; Boiler & Heating Controls ; Demand Controlled Ventilation.

With grants available through the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) and a growing appreciation that improved home insulation offers an excellent return on investment, retrofit insulation is an expanding sector and CosiHomes is proud to be at the forefront of this.

In addition to its Ashbourne showroom and office, which were opened by the then Environment Minister,  Phil Hogan in 2011, CosiHomes employs a network of installers nationwide.

Up to 35% of heat is lost through the roof of a standard home, with another 40% lost through the walls. With CosiHomes insulation retrofitted, customers can save as much as 50% on their annual home heating bill, which is a massive saving for any household. By getting your attic and walls insulated, your home will be warmer and more comfortable, and you will be doing your bit for the environment as well as saving money.

A free advice centre is part of the service. CosiHomes will look after every aspect of your insulation, from top to bottom, both internal and external, before coming up with the ideal way of minimising heat loss from your property. The company provides free consultation at your home and can also organise grant aid on the client’s behalf. A SEAI grant of €700 for Boiler & Heating Controls upgrade is now available.

All new boilers that CosiHomes install under the SEAI grant-aided schemes are more than 91% efficient. Some old boilers, if not serviced, can be as low as 60% efficient. That means that 40 cents of every euro you spend on your heating is wasted.
