Celebrating 20 years in business, GMG Mechanical Services Ltd is a leading heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), piping and renewables contractor serving a multitude of commercial, industrial and institutional clients.

The company has grown rapidly since it was established by husband-and-wife and joint directors Gregory and Mary McGrory in Laghey, Co. Donegal in 1996. It opened a regional office in Dublin ten years ago and also has offices in Northern Ireland and mainland UK.

Offering many solutions for large scale mechanical challenges, GMG Mechanical Services Ltd has been involved in a wide variety of contracts from shopping centres and hotels to office blocks, schools and mixed use developments over the past two decades. Its dedicated staff members work on a regional basis to serve new and existing clients.

“We’ve been providing a nationwide service since 1996 when we started working for large building contractors like Sisk, Bennett Construction, PJ Hegarty and Sammon Builders. We’ve built strong relationships with our clients by exceeding their expectations every time. Our outstanding reputation has won us many contracts not only in Ireland, but also in the UK,” MD Gregory McGrory explains.

HVAC Piping – chilled and hot water systems, condenser water systems, steam systems, DX piping systems, fusion welding, large diameter piping. Retrofit – system replacements, energy efficiency upgrades, pump repairs and retrofits, rooftop units, control valve retrofit, system capacity upgrades, control system add-ons.

Green Energy – geothermal heating, sustainable / renewable heating, biomass heating, biomass plant rooms, heat recovery ventilation, solar collectors- hydronic and photovoltaic. Specialist Gas Installations – laboratories, pharmaceutical, environmental, process, fire protection, air conditioning, gas installations.

GMG also incorporate the latest technologies providing 2D/3D AutoCAD drafting services ranging from layout/schematic drawings to 3D buildings and detailed assembly components to the latest building information modelling services. One of the recent contracts GMG has been part of was the construction of the 300-bed South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen. The services provided by GMG for main contractor FCC Elliott Construction to this £400 million project were soils and waste-water services, rain water services, surface water services, foul waste services, sanitary ware installation services.

Other recent examples of GMG’s work can be found at the IT Tallaght Centre for Applied Sciences and Health (C.A.S.H.) Building, the new Cork Prison, the PCB Building at Dublin Airport and the IDA Resource Centres in Castlebar and Sligo. BAM was the main contractor to the IT Tallaght C.A.S.H Building for which GMG provided the mechanical services, including LPHW services, CHW services, technical gas services, ventilation services, BMS services, compressed air services, gas services, chemical exhaust services, air conditioning services, water services and soil and waste services.

GMG was also responsible for the installation of mechanical services to the new 166-cell Cork prison, which had PJ Hegarty as its main contractor. For the PCB Building, Dublin Airport – Sammon Contractors was the main contractor for this project – GMG supplied and installed the gas fired heating system in conjunction with a heat recovery air conditioning ventilation system.
