Tritech engineering’s health & Safety record recognised at NISo/NiSG awards

12 Jul , 2019

The strong emphasis placed on Health & Safety by Tritech Engineering was recognised at the 2018 NISO/NISG awards ceremony. The company’s Health & Safety Manager Niamh Dixon and Maintenance & Safety Director Peter Keane outlined the company’s approach to Health & Safety.

The 27th National Irish Safety Organisation / Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISO/NISG) Annual Safety Awards took place on 12 October 2018 at a special ceremony in Killarney.

The awards demonstrate the positive and proactive culture of safety management in organisations and continuous commitment to health and safety in their organisation.

Tritech Engineering – one of Ireland’s leading Mechanical, Electrical & Maintenance Contracting companies – was honoured to be ‘highly commended’ for their commitment to Health and Safety.

Attention to health and safety is not just about being socially responsible. It also makes good business sense and Tritech Engineering regards it as just as important as the achievement of any of their key business objectives.

The company operates a Health and Safety Management System which demonstrates how seriously they take their health and safety responsibilities.

“Last year it was suggested by our Managing Director (Joe Delaney) and Maintenance & Safety Director (Peter Keane) that we put together a submission for the Awards which in itself was great recognition for the work that we do throughout the Company in Health & Safety,” explained Tritech Engineering’s Health & Safety Manager Niamh Dixon.

“In our submission, we documented all the policies we have in place at the moment as well as our plans to develop and improve on them. We also wanted to emphasis that this is not a one off, the company has a long-term commitment to Health and Safety and we look forward to entering again this year.”

Tritech Engineering has a responsibility to the Health Safety and Welfare of its operatives and this is enshrined in their Safety Statement. They strive to achieve zero workplace accidents and to eliminate or reduce workplace hazards where possible. The Company has dedicated a lot of resources to the Safety Division, including an additional Officer with Ruth Hayes coming on board, in 2018.

They foster a culture of health and safety that promotes responsibility at every level throughout the organisation. They operate a thoroughly comprehensive occupational Health and Safety Management System and are a certified company of Safe T cert.

Tritech achieved Safe T Cert accreditation in 2011 and reached the “A grade” level in 2014. The company’s ability to maintain this grade is largely down to the cooperation of all staff in maintaining current standards and implementing new procedures.

Safe-T-Cert was developed by the CIF and Construction Employers Federation Northern Ireland and is accredited by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). The three-day audit covers health and safety documentation, interviews with senior managers and project staff and site audits on selected sites.

Furthermore, the “A grade” demonstrates the company’s commitment to continual improvement in relation to health and safety.

“There is a lot of input from all different sectors at all different levels within the company into our Health & Safety policies,” Niamh added. “We are a multi-disciplinary company and Health & Safety has been worked through all of our Mechanical, Electrical and Maintenance departments.”

Meanwhile, as a registered partner for Construction Safety week, Tritech Engineering’s mission is to partner together to: reduce accidents on construction sites in Ireland, increase awareness of the importance of being committed to safety & health…every day, inspiring all to share best practices and to work together to strengthen the industry’s safety culture and celebrate the safety achievements to date.

Since its formation in 1999, Tritech Engineering has established itself as a leading multi-disciplined projects company which has gained significant experience across a wide range of business sectors.

They cover the Financial, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Office Fit Out and Commercials, Hotel and Leisure, Education, Retail, Public Sector and Residential sectors and their portfolio of successfully completed projects includes the Temple Bar Hotel, RBS Georges Quay, The Atrium Block B, Capital Dock, Griffith College and Wheatfield Prison, to name but a few.

They have invested heavily in both their staff and technology to ensure they continually improve their services and ensure their teams have the skills, expertise and technical resources necessary to efficiently take their clients’ projects from start to finish.

Tritech offers their valued clients (which includes the likes of John Paul Construction and John Sisk & Son) a full range of Mechanical, Electrical & Maintenance Services including Engineering, Project Management, Design & Build, Construction, Asset Management, PPM, 24/7 reactive maintenance and validation.

ISO 9001:2015 & Safe T Cert accreditation across all service divisions demonstrates that they have an independently verified and structured approach to completing projects to the highest standards of Quality and Safety. They pride themselves on their professional approach in delivering complex projects in critical environments.

Their Quality Assurance procedures have been developed to provide sophisticated monitoring and control of all on-site and off-site activities. Their quality management system ensures that procedures are carried out consistently, that problems can be identified and resolved, and that the organisation can continuously review and improve their procedures and services.

Supported by teams who are committed to the company’s principles, their continued growth is based on strong client relationships, reputation and trust. They achieve this by consistently evaluating new products, technologies and innovative solutions in service execution so as to exceed Client expectations while delivering quality and value.

“Quality work, a safe working environment and our good reputation are the three things that we pride ourselves on,” remarked Maintenance & Safety Director Peter Keane who revealed that the company is moving to new premises in Baldonnell in March.
