Indeed, many of the staff engage in constant upskilling to keep abreast of all the latest developments within the industry.

With Walden Electrical Contracting Ltd, an unrivalled service and dedicated customer care is assured. The firm works closely with its clients to understand their needs and can tailor its methods and service to suit their individual requirements. Offering a wealth of industry experience, Walden Electrical Contracting Ltd delivers outstanding results and is renowned for quality, expertise, attention to detail, time frame and value-for-money. The company also strives to promote best practice in Health & Safety and is a proud member of Safe Electric, which is the Electrical Safety Supervisory Body appointed by the Commission for Energy Regulation, and the Construction Industry Federation (CIF).

“We provide a complete electrical contracting service nationwide,” explains Walter Holden, who runs Walden Electrical Contracting Ltd along with fellow directors Pamela Corcoran and Dominic Ryan.

“We are a well-established contractor offering top class service and installation standards. Our ability to complete projects on time, within budget and to the client’s total satisfaction has made us the contractor of choice for many over the past two decades. As well as our clients, we work closely with engineering consultants, architects and main contractors to ensure that every job is completed successfully.”

Walden Electrical Contracting Ltd boasts an impressive client list which includes retail giants Dunnes Stores and Musgrave (SuperValu and Centra), Permanent TSB, DAA (Dublin Airport Authority), OPW (Office of Public Works) and the Department of Education.

“We enjoy excellent relationships with clients who use our services on a regular basis,” the affable managing director continues.

“We have been working with Dunnes Stores for the past 16 years and are carrying out a complete electrical upgrade of all Permanent TSB branches on an ongoing basis. We were responsible for the upgrading of new runway lighting at Dublin Airport and also undertake a lot of heritage and school work for the OPW and Department of Education. We are in the process of starting the electrical upgrade of Portumna Castle in Co. Galway and Cahir Castle in Co. Tipperary for the OPW. We also recently carried out a full electrical refurbishment at Colaiste Mhuire in Thurles.”

Th Co. Tipperary company has been awarded the electrical contract for a new extension at Sacred Heart Primary School in Roscrea. The main contractor on the project is local building firm Frank C Murray & Sons Construction, which has a reputation for building to exceptionally high standards using modern methods of construction.

Walter is looking to the future with cautious optimism after the difficult years of the recession. Like many in the sector, he is striving to build his company back up to where it was before the downturn hit almost a decade ago.

“I would have a positive, if somewhat cautious, outlook,” he says.

“The economy has definitely picked up in the last year or two, but if the downturn has taught us anything, it’s not to take anything for granted. Brexit and Donald Trump’s election (as US president) has the potential to slow down growth. The world is a much smaller place now due to the advances in technology and anything that happens in the UK or America usually has a knock-on effect here. There is also a shortage of skilled electricians out there, although we are fortunate to have some of the best working for us.”

In conclusion, Walter expresses his appreciation to his customers for their continued support.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for supporting us and putting their trust in us since 1998. We look forward to continuing to provide them with a first-class service in the years ahead.”
