For this edition of Building Ireland we profile one such company as we place our attention on Mayo based ShareRidge Ltd.

Headquartered in Castlebar, this family run business specialises in Mains Rehabilitation, Leak Detection, Directional Drilling, Pipe Bursting, Moling & Butt Welding, Live Connection of Utility Services, Sewer Renovations, Site Inspections, Stone & Blockwork Reinstatement, Landscaping and Steel Fixing & Form Work.

Now over a decade old, the company has gone from strength to strength as they provide their unique set of services to a large customer base including many county councils around the country, including Irish Water, and various Local Authorities Nationwide to name just a few.

Established by cousins Sean and Paul McNamara and through a team of skilled workers, they offer their expertise in the areas mentioned above using the newest technology available to them.

Through their innovative approach, they have managed to improve the level of service that they provide in the Civil Engineering Industry.

Contracts manager Michael McNamara had 35 years’ experience as a Civil Engineer before coming on board and his expertise has helped the business acquire some prestige civil engineering projects over the last decade.

Sean told us that their focus was to deliver the highest standard of work possible on every project using all their expertise to do so.

“We have strong technical competency across all areas, and have undertaken many high profile contracts. We have a lot of expertise, but also the ability to deliver high quality and desired results on specialist projects on time and within budget,” said Sean.

Through their wealth of knowledge and the professionalism that they offer, ShareRidge Ltd also offer a consultancy service in trenchless technology, PE pipe and welding procedures.

ShareRidge are renowned for offering a comprehensive and professional service that is client orientated. In doing so, they remain personal, very competitive and budget-focussed.

“Our focus is on the customer and ensuring that they are more than happy with the work that we do. We work hand in hand with the client every step of the way and in doing this, we can complete a project to the highest standard possible,” added Sean.

“The aim of the company is always to strive towards excellence in all aspects of our work and service delivery. We want to push the boundaries within all of the streams of the work carried out by introducing pioneering techniques that will not only make the work more efficient but also improve outputs and drive down costs and timescale for clients.”

This year saw ShareRidge Ltd achieve an A grade status in its 2016 Safe T Cert annual surveillance audit, while they have also being accredited to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, both which are recognised international standards.

“The accreditations we have received have come about through the hard work of all the staff here. There are over 40 people employed here and they all play their part in making the business a success. We offer in-house training so that employees can fulfil their potential and thus shaping a skilled, motivated and driven workforce.”

The labour force includes all central services, in-house Health and Safety staff that complement their experienced ground level staff.

ShareRidge Ltd. also owns all its plant and machinery, which also keeps overheads low. This ultimately prevents additional costs usually associated through sub-contractors and hire costs from being incurred as part of the pricing structure.

“We would sub a small part of our work out depending on how busy we are, but we would certainly carry out the majority of it ourselves.”
