The complete interior solution

14 Jul , 2017

One of the most successful interior fit-out companies in both Ireland and the UK, IIS Ltd clients include multi-national companies, government agencies and leading commercial interests. Managing Director Nick Fitzgerald told us more.

IIS Ltd are situated in Celbridge, Co Kildare and London. They specialise in commercial, retail, corporate interior design and construction. The company is owned by Nick Fitzgerald and his business partner Mick Jones, a Welsh native, and together they have steadily grown the business from two staff to 12 full-time employees in the space of 13 years.

Whether it’s a complete refit or you are starting with an empty shell, IIS Ltd can transform your space into a modern efficient workspace.

The company’s services cover all elements of interior contracting from concept to completion. IIS Ltd will assume full responsibility for the project management and supervision of construction works, including all aspects of health and safety.

Having begun his career in London, Nick is now the co-owner of a company which he says is experiencing “excellent” business at the present time.

“We’re basically a one-stop shop for anyone looking to get work done on commercial and retail interior spaces,” he explained. “We do commercial and retail interior fit-out and refurbishment, so we can take your typical office space and transform it into a new and inviting space for al lyour staff to enjoy.”

What sets IIS Ltd apart in the industry is their commitment to delivering on-going value to all their clients, their consultants and the communities in which they operate, according to Nick.

It is this approach that has earned the company pride of place in the fit-out industry. Achieving the agreed time, cost and quality parameters is a given – the focus is on delivering more.   They have the proven ability to plan, organise, programme and resource large projects and a management and design team that have the competence and experience to operate effectively at all levels of their clients’ organisation.

The strong and long-standing relationships IIS Ltd enjoys with their construction teams benefit their clients in both the design and construction phases.

“Repeat business in 2016 was somewhere in the region of 60 per cent,” Nick outlined. “We look to do more than satisfy our clients. Our delivery record is something that we’re very proud of here because we have always delivered on time.”

Repeat business, customer satisfaction and precision in delivery are all essential traits for any wannabe-successful company.

For Nick, it’s something that he learned back when he started working in the industry and has carried with him in the running of his own venture.

“I began my career in London and after 13 years I returned home to Ireland and started working in Dublin. I met my business partner Mick there and in 2004 we decided to set up our own business,” he said.

“With the work that we were doing we felt that there was no reason why we couldn’t do this for ourselves, so we took the decision to start up our own venture and thankfully it has gone well since.

“Our office in London is where Mick spends most of his working week whilst I am in Celbridge.”

Recent projects for the commercial sector include a three week design and build fit-out of Lucozade Ribena Suntory at The Chase Building in Sandyford, 30k sq ft for Infosys – a global leader in consulting, technology and outsourcing at the CityWest Campus, 400 staff refurbishment project for HPE in Leixlip to mention a few.

As for the retail sector, eir are one of the top clients in the country for IIS Ltd. The creation of Eir was Ireland’s largest rebrand in 20 years and IIS Ltd were the company chosen to deliver this nationwide on their 50 retail outlets, this includes the new flagship cutting edge store on Dublin’s Henry St.

This store has set a new benchmark on the high street of Ireland when you look at the mobile and fixed communication markets.

“Business is excellent thanks to our very loyal customer base as well as our new clients,” stated Nick.

”Having set-up in 2004, a harsh economic downturn was just around the corner for the company and Nick explained that they were able to weather the storm better than some other businesses in the same industry.

“It affected us to an extent but we didn’t have a huge number of staff when it hit, so we were able to cope with it,” he said.

“We’ve be seeing an upturn here since 2011. When we started out in 2004 there were only two full-time staff here and now there are 12, so we’ve been steadily growing over the past decade or so.

“At the moment, we feel our staff numbers are right to bring us to the next level here.”

2017 will be about more the same for IIS Ltd, with its co-owner outlining that things have been going according to script thus far for the business.

“Business-wise, our focus is to try and achieve our target business plan. It’s a three-year plan which started in 2014 and we’re more than happy with the way that it has gone for us so far.

“Hopefully in 2017 we’ll continue to stay busy and keep satisfying our clients along the way,” Nick concluded.
