Swift scaffolding  are flying high

15 Jun , 2018

Swift Scaffolding Ltd is a leading scaffolding provider located in the heart of Ireland. The tube and fitting specialist company provides a nationwide service to pharmaceutical plants, Government agencies, industrial enterprises, local authorities, building contractors and domestic clients.

Swift Scaffolding was established in February 2010 by Matt Senior and Johnny Walker, who identified a gap in the market for a reputable, effective scaffold provider who could meet client needs in an economical, safe and reliable manner. The company came through the recession with flying colours and continues to go from strength to strength. This can be attributed to the marrying of its extensive scaffolding knowledge with unparalleled customer service as well as a strong commitment to health and safety.

Swift is equipped for and experienced in all types of scaffolding. The company believes all access solutions should be client-friendly, cost-effective but, most importantly, safe. By liaising with its clients before and during each stage of a project, Swift strives to meet and exceed its clients’ aims in a professional and effective manner using safe, secure scaffold solutions.

Communication is the company’s most valuable tool. It is able to adapt to meet the changing requirements of any job at any stage.  This flexible and open-minded approach has led to repeat business from a large number of clients, and this is how they measure their success. The company’s base in the heart of Laois gives its fleet easy access to most of the country’s major road network. Its central location has helped the company gain a foothold with clients in all four provinces.

The company is now run by Matt Senior and his wife Liz, who is the current president of the Uibh Fhaili chapter of  BNI (Business Networking International) . They are joined by their children Mollie and Liam, and a 14-strong team of highly-trained and professional scaffolders. Swift boasts an impressive and varied client list across a range of sectors, including the Office of Public Works (OPW), Irish Rail, Global Rail Services, Astellas Pharmaceutical, Takeda, Ipsen Manufacturing, Tegral, O’Kelly Bros Civil Engineering, Allen & Smyth Construction, Guerbet Group, IES, Michael Higgins & Co, Joe Sinnott Roofing, James Spollen Construction, Enva, Designer Group, CBRE and PM Group.

“Over the past eight years, we have endeavoured to build up a core of good clients and to do things right. We don’t believe in cutting corners and always put our valued clients first. We value the companies who value us,” says Matt.

“We have forged an excellent working relationship with several clients, and are the scaffolding contractor of choice for many of them. We respect all our clients from the largest of corporations to the individual person.”

Swift Scaffolding is a tube and fitting specialist company, but is also proficient in all other system scaffolds. It provides scaffolds to pharmaceutical, environmental, restoration / historical and building projects among others. From the large shutdown scaffolds to the intricate complicated access areas, Swift has the expertise and equipment to provide a safe solution to any access problem.

The company’s previous experience in the environmental access industry means it understands the specialist and often high-risk challenges of such projects. Swift can confidently approach these challenges and provide a safe and secure solution. This has resulted in repeat business from one of Ireland’s premier waste management companies.

A dedicated approach to safety whilst providing access solutions means that Swift Scaffolding can take on any size or complexity of building, and can manage challenges such as complex lifting requirements and heavy loads to create safe, secure scaffolds. The company recently completed the demolition of the stands on the Curragh Racecourse with UK-based PPO Connor Demolition.

One of its major specialist areas is providing unique solutions for historical and often listed buildings. The company has the knowledge and experience to manage such detailed and sensitive projects. A case in point would be a protective crash deck scaffold over a priceless Louis XV bed in Russborough House, Co. Wicklow.

Clients use Swift because it is CWPS compliant, can provide a 24-hour emergency service and scaffold design drawings. In addition, the company is a Construction Industry Register Ireland (CIRI) member and has a proven track record in delivering projects on time and within budget.

Safety is something Swift Scaffolding takes extremely serious. It provides a highly experienced, competent team from inception of enquiry to completion of contract. The company’s safety statement forms the basis of all of its working practices.

By employing the skills of a qualified safety consultancy and liaising with clients’ in-house safety officers, Swift will continue to maintain an excellent safety record.

All of Swift’s employees hold a minimum of Safe Pass, manual handling and working at heights training. Additionally, apart from the scaffold tickets, the staff are offered training in other further development courses such as confined space, personal track safety, harness inspection, first aid, IOSH managing safely in construction and rescue training. In order to maintain the high standards it has set for itself, the company encourages its staff to further their own skillset and assigns a training budget for this purpose.

Swift’s fleet of vehicles consist of trucks and vans which deliver materials to and from sites of work. All vehicles are routinely maintained, serviced and records kept. The company only uses materials that meet EN / BS requirements and carries a large stock of tube, fittings, cuplock, cuplock stair systems, alloy beams, aluminium tubing as well as timber, metal and clean environment plastic boards.

The Co. Laois firm is committed to continually assessing its environmental policy and implementing relevant updates as required.

Kilkenny for OPW National Monuments; Telecommunications Control Building in Inchicore, Dublin 8 for Global Rail Services (working on behalf of Irish Rail); Irish Stock Exchange on Anglesea Street, Dublin 2 for O’Kelly Bros Civil Engineering; Housing Regeneration in Wicklow Town for Joe Sinnott Roofing (working on behalf of Wicklow County Council); decommissioning / recommissioning of Zoetis (formerly MSD) pharmaceutical plant in Rathdrum, Co. They look forward to forging relationships with new clients and hope to grow an even stronger business in the years to come.
