Savings guaranteed with the award winning Efficient Renewables Ltd

22 Oct , 2020

Efficient Renewables Limited won the Medium Commercial Project of the Year category at this year’s Ireland’s Plumbing & Heating Awards. Bocan Creche, Culdaff, Co Donegal has enjoyed massive savings on its energy bill ever since Efficient Renewables installed their Eco Forest ground source heat pump.

“The total savings amounted to 50-60%,” I’d say 70 to 80 % revealed Christy Lynch who accepted the award at the gala ceremony in the Citywest Hotel on Friday, September 13th along with his fellow director Jonathan Doherty.

From the best apprentices to those who have given a lifetime’s service, the awards recognise the best of Ireland’s plumbing and heating industry. Under the guidance of Christy and Jonathan, Efficient Renewables Limited is not just another general plumbing business.

They are an award winning team of plumbers and renewable energy experts. They found that with the focus now on renewable energy, the vast majority of the population are looking to reduce their energy costs. The demand existed for a competitively priced solar panel systems and heat pump systems as existing suppliers to the market were not fully satisfying customer demands and needs.

Efficient Renewables boast over 30 years’ experience in the renewable energy industry installing thermodynamic solar panels, wood boilers and ecoforest geothermal heat pumps for both domestic and commercial buildings. All their work is completed to the highest quality and only use the best products available.

“Myself and Jonathan were both on the live register back in 2009,” Christy recalled. “We set about looking for a bespoke product that would make us different and help us stand out from the crowd.”

Efficient Renewables began as a company with one product – Energie is the company that manufactures and owns the Energie thermodynamics solar system patent. It is well known nationally and internationally in the area of solar energy.

As the distributors, Efficient Renewables Limited are responsible for installing the Energie Solar Panel systems in both new and existing homes throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland.

“We haven’t looked back since,” Christy added, “and, today, we have four full-time plumbers 2 apprentices and a full-time administrator working alongside us.”

EHP Renewables solar panel systems  are capable of extracting sufficient warmth to supply all your hotwater needs even on the coldest winter days. Energie solar panels are fully equipped, accredited and qualified to design and install a solar panel system that will meet your needs.

Efficient Renewables  have the team, the tools and technology to maximise comfort and energy efficiency in your building and save you money, whether at work or at home.

The Energie Thermodynamic Solar Panels from Efficient Renewables are able to work as both a  hot water heating system and a central heating system.  Their solar panels can alternate between heating your house during the winter and heating hot water during the spring, autumn and summer.

Efficient Renewables incorporate a market leading thermodynamic technology where heat is drawn from the environment by the solar panel and is then transferred to the water via a compressor, using the Carnot cycle.

The thermodynamic solar panels ensures the capture of energy through: exterior air by natural convection, direct and diffuse radiation, rain water and wind effect.

This means that  thermodynamic solar panels from Efficient Renewables are not reliant on the sun for energy. This is why it’s the best solar panel for use in Ireland and northern Ireland, as it suits our climate far better.

Following detailed discussions with Ecoforest, Efficient Renewables were appointed the sole distributors of the Ecoforest geothermal heat pump range for The Republic of Ireland.

Geothermal energy is one of the lesser known energy sources, but also the most efficient. This manageable energy is continuously produced and stored under the surface of the earth in the form of heat at a constant temperature throughout the year. A clean energy that uses the heat from underground to produce heat ecologically, it allows savings on energy bills and reduced CO2 emissions.

It has important advantages over other renewable climate-control systems, as it is one of the few that can provide cooling, heating and domestic hot water from the same installation.

Geothermal heating or climate-control uses various systems to extract or return energy from the ground. The most widely used, because of its reliability and performance is vertical geothermal system, which involves extracting or returning heat to the earth by means of closed-circuit exchangers, working at a depth of between 80 and 150 m.

An unlimited amount of energy, renewable and totally free, is stored at our feet, waiting to be exploited.

By using ecoforest heat pumps we can capture this energy. Use it to heat your homes in the most inexpensive way while contributing to solve the serious problem of the environmental degradation of our planet.

During the winter, the ground temperature is higher than ambient temperature. So, the pumps draw heat from it and release it inside of your home. In summer the opposite occurs. The ground is cooler than the air. The geothermal heat pumps extract heat from the house and yields it to the ground. The same way it does to keep the inside of a refrigerator cooler than the outside temperature.

“We installed an ecoforest 5-22KW ground source heat pump into the Bocan Creche. We drilled three bore holes, each 100m deep, into the car park and built a new plant room to house the heat pump,” explained Christy. “Phase 2 of the project that involved upgrading all lighting to LED and phase 3 incorporated the installation of a 6KW Electric Solar Panel to run the heat pumps and lighting.”

Efficient Renewables completed the installation in a tight timeframe. “We drilled the holes on a Friday, worked away Saturday and Sunday, and the job was completed on the Monday in time for the creche to open.”

The Donegal headquartered company also counts the White Oaks Rehabilitation Centre, Muff, County Donegal and Hostel Connect, Strand Road, Derry amongst its list of satisfied customers and, with the SEAI grants that are on offer at this point in time, it will come as no surprise to anyone to learn that demand for Efficient Renewables’ services and products is brisk. SEAI grants are helping homeowners, business owners, communities and large industry reduce their energy costs and greenhouse emissions.

“We’re passionate about the bespoke products we offer and we pride ourselves in offering an excellent back-up service,” Christy concluded.
