8 Oct , 2020

With 65 years of experience in commercial refrigeration, dispense, asset management and service; REL Group have cemented a reputation as industry leaders across a range of sectors.

The group’s mechanical engineering division ‘RELTEC’ was established to specialise in the undertaking of large scale mechanical projects.
Building Ireland learned all about Carlow-based RELTEC –from its Commercial Manager, Joe Gorman recently.

Four years ago REL Group set-up RELTEC, a part of the business which aims to provide mechanical engineering solutions for companies operating across several industries all over Ireland including commercial, hospitality, pharmaceutical, retail and educational.

It first started out as the engineering division of REL Group but, as time went by, it expanded substantially and established its own separate business unit.
RELTEC now drives the research, development and innovation for the entire group and has become a leading company within the engineering sector in Ireland.

Commercial Manager, Joe Gorman explained that RELTEC can design, develop and install value added solutions through a variety of services.
“RELTEC specialises in the installation of industrial and commercial HVAC systems, process piping and mechanical plant and equipment; we also have an Electrical engineering department which offers a range of electrical services as well as a Maintenance and Asset Management function which offers services to World renowned brands and multi-national companies.”

Operating from the company’s headquarters on O’Brien Road in Carlow town, their expert team of highly skilled and experienced technicians have worked on many high profile projects for Irish businesses and have a strong track record for quality installations and maintenance.

“RELTEC was first established in 2015 and we’ve worked hard here to promote the brand and make it into the successful it is today,” said Joe.

Business at the moment, according to Joe, is flourishing for The REL Group across all its divisions, with Mechanical Services in particular booming.
With Clients such as Diageo, Irish Rail, Eir, O’Callaghan Group and PRL, it’s no coincidence why.

“The company is currently mainly focused on projects in the Dublin City area. Although, there are a number of upcoming nationwide projects on our books over the next few years.”

Repeat business from such high profile clientele is a result of excellent work being carried out time and time again on each project, according to the Commercial Manager.

Under the directorship of Liam Byrne and Paul Duffin, REL Group has developed expertise which allows them to offer the full range of services, from the initial design phases, to installation, and then to service and maintenance.
The company’s extended divisions include Dispense Solutions, Facility Management and Cooling Services.
Operating in all 32 counties in Ireland, REL Group’s focused team of experienced professionals provides honest advice and support to allow clients to make the decision process easy and hassle free.
The team endeavours to ensure their offerings are in line with the ever changing trends that are occurring in the marketplace and they provide exclusive distribution of some of the World leading brands including Brita Professional Dispense systems.

REL Group has grown an excellent reputation for its work over the past six-and-a-half decades.

“I think it has a lot to do with the people we have here,” said Joe.

“The directors of the company are bringing in people with great experience and expertise. We’ve established strong relationships with our clients and we deliver for them every time – they never have any issues.”

Just before Christmas, the group; with the dedication and support of CG Business Consulting, achieved certification for three ISO standards; IS EN ISO 9001:2015 the International standard for Quality Management Systems, ISO 45001:2018 the International standard for Occupational health and safety management systems and ISO 14001:2015 the International standard for Environmental management systems.

Looking towards the year ahead, Joe is feeling positive about 2020 as RELTEC grows half a decade old and business for the group as a whole hopefully continues to thrive.

Having recently achieved certification for three ISO standards; IS EN ISO 9001:2015 the International standard for Quality Management Systems, ISO 45001:2018 the International standard for Occupational health and safety management systems and ISO 14001:2015 the International standard for Environmental management systems with the dedication and support of consultants ‘CG Business Consulting’

“Next year will see us taking off in the Irish market. That’s certainly the plan for us and, at the moment, I can only see it going up from here,” he concluded.
