The first Center Parcs location in Longford Forest is on its way and due to be open in the summer of 2019.

Plans for Longford Forest include 470 lodges to accommodate 2,500 guests, 30 apartments, and more than 100 indoor and outdoor family activities. Guests will be able to enjoy a range of restaurants, shops, the UK award winning Aqua Sana Spa and their famous Subtropical Swimming Paradise.

Currently, a hive of construction activity, the development has injected a new lease of life into Longford and its surrounding environs. John Sisk & Son is the main contractor on the €233 million development and have entrusted Sligo-based Norris Plant Hire Ltd with the task of looking after the ground and civils work.

Norris Plant Hire was set up in 1990 by Earl Norris, the firm became a limited company in 1997, by Jean, Alex and Steen Norris. All Norris Plant Hire contracts are supervised by the Managing Directors to ensure the highest quality of work is delivered to their client.

Their offices are located in Ballisodare, Co. Sligo and each project they work on is completed to the highest standard of quality with great emphasis on safety for clients in the housing, transport, industrial, commercial, utilities, energy, waste and leisure sectors.

“We started on site in January and will be there until next March,” Office Administrator Jade Norris revealed when asked about the Center Parcs job. “Practically half of our workforce of thirty employees are up there and, as a company, we are very proud to be associated with such a prestigious project.”

Norris Plant Hire Ltd. is a forward-thinking family business that specialise in demolition, bulk excavation and plant hire, land drainage, bog work (soft ground), site clearance, shuttering, pile driving, construction, civil works, crushing and site development.

They can haul sand, gravel and rock and are available for contract at an hourly or daily rate as required.

Norris Plant Hire ensures that all their employees are fully trained, FAS Safe Pass safety certified, CSCS cards Manual Handling and have wide experience in the construction industry.

They have a wide range of 3 to 30 ton excavators along with 8 wheel tipper Lorries. Their excavators come complete with a range of attachments such as hydraulic rock-breakers, excavator mounted hydraulic compactors, long reach, handling grabs and their machines are fitted with a ‘quick-hitch’. This facilitates speed and efficiency when switching attachments. Safety statements and machine certs are available on all machines.
