The confidence, skill and loyalty of the highly experienced team at Newell Roofing Products Ltd has helped the company grow from its humble origins in the 1980’s to become one of the country’s leading independent producers and suppliers of commercial, domestic and agricultural roofing products.
As a family run business, they pride themselves on their ability to offer one of the largest varieties of profiled sheet. Their core principles remain the same today, as at the outset, based on one basic strategy – all orders, large or small, receive the same attention from enquiry stage to completion.
Their hi-tech, purpose built premises, located in Carnmore, Co Galway, in addition to our own fleet of modern vehicles, help support their name for exemplary service. Over the years, Newell Roofing has gained a reputation for supplying high quality products at very competitive prices with their focus centring on customer service, a policy which enables them to compete and on many occasions beat competition.
From their manufacturing facility where they manufacture commercial, domestic and agricultural roofing products. The addition of a highly developed flashings service, combining a full range of accessories, saw the company become a one-stop-shop for the contractor and D.I.Y enthusiast alike.
Roofing and cladding, Superspan Purlins, Greencoat PLX Standing Seam, Struga Metal Gutter System, Fatra Single Plhy Membrane, Ridge Capping and Slate Edgings, Flashings, Cut & Fold Services are all available.
“Our long standing and valued suppliers are only selected following a stringent review process, ensuring we can uphold our warranties, available on certain materials. Our ISO certification, together with the CE marking of Newell Roofing products, further enhances our first class reputation,” said company director Pat Hopkins.
“We are proud of the product and service we offer. Our practical yet flexible approach to business, in conjunction with extensive stock-holdings, ensures no job becomes too large or too small.”
The end result of this major investment placed in the company over the years is that they now manufacture and supply materials direct to you the customer. This ensures that you are always using top quality materials at a competitive price and that they can provide a faster and more efficient service.
It is important that the customer receive proper, professional advice regarding their roof so that the correct type of materials are supplied. With over 30 years of roofing experience Newell Roofing offer an unbeatable service to all customers.
“Our sales team are there to deal with any enquiries and they can organise for a quotation to be made free of charge. Our design team can talk you through the whole process and for some that are not sure what they are looking for, our experience will help guide them through the process.”
Newell Roofing provide a wide range of products and one of their most popular is the GreenCoat PLX Pro BT, which is a high quality roofing and cladding material produced by SSAB Swedish Steel and distributed across the UK and Ireland by Newell Roofing Products Limited.
This material is the greenest, high quality, colour coated steel used for exterior building applications such as Standing Seam Roof or wall cladding (also called Long Strip Roofing) and to product interlocking cassette panels. GreenCoat PLX Pro BT has been used extensively across Europe and due to its premium Nordic quality steel in the substrate, low temperatures and harsh environment do not compromise the material, which is why it is recognised worldwide as one of the best steels available on the market.
GreenCoat PLX Pro BT features a Bio-based Technology (BT) coating where a substantial portion of the traditional fossil oil is replaced by Swedish Rapeseed Oil, which is unique on the market. This patented BT coating offers not only environmental advantages but also increased performance.
“We have a long standing partnership with Swedish Steel (themselves a very quality focused company) ensuring that their customers receive the best product available. This in turn guarantees that materials bought from Newell Roofing Products continue to perform well, and look well, for many years to come. Having been recognised for our quality products, we were chosen suppliers for British Nuclear Fuels, Thermo King and have done extensive work with Galway County Council.
“We have a wide offering for both the Irish and UK roofing market and have specialised in the supply of Long Strip Roofing, Prelaq Nova PLX, and a metal gutter system, Struga, in the UK since 2009. Both systems are made from the Swedish sheet Prelaq which retains its aesthetic and functional properties for a long time.”
From their 35,000sq ft premises, Newell Roofing Products Ltd have customers all across the country and Pat revealed that they are very busy at the moment.
“There is a lot of work on again and you can see that it is starting to spread outside Dublin. Cork is getting very busy as is Limerick, which is good to see.”
The quality products that Newell’s provide have gathered a larger audience in the last few years, due to the company’s appearances on such iconic TV shows as Channel 4’s Grand Designs and RTE’s Room to Improve.
“We received a number of calls after our products appeared on both shows. On Room to Improve, we featured on the episode where Dermot Bannon was overseeing the redevelopment of former Westmeath footballer Dessie Dolan’s home. It was great for us to get such recognition and it really helped get our name out there.
“This is a very competitive market and we have to maintain the standards that our customers expect from us and try to improve them where possible.”
To achieve those standards, a reliable, efficient and experienced work force is needed and Pat revealed that they were fortunate in that respect.
“There are 27 people employed many of who have been with the company for a number of years. We have a very good workforce and we place a massive emphasis on training, which helps the employees reach their potential which benefits everyone.”
