MD Electrical Installations lead the way

Business “has experienced steady growth” as of late at MD Electrical Installations and Martin Conway, the company’s Contracts Director, recently outlined their continuing success with Building Ireland recently.

Since the inception of MD Electrical Installations, the company’s philosophy of ‘Excellence in Electrical Engineering’ has helped to propel its business growth and have been leading the way in electrical installations throughout Ireland and the UK for more than 20 years now.

2016 saw the company mark 22 years to be exact and also become one of the first businesses of its kind to be certified to the new international Quality Management Standard ISO9001:2015 and the Environmental Management Standard ISO14001:2015.

With offices within Ireland and the UK, MD Electrical Installations has grown itself into an independent business over the past two decades and earned itself a reputation of being a reputable results orientated company within the market along the way.

Martin Conway is the Contracts Director at MD Electrical Installations and has informed us on what they’re all about, along with some of their past projects:

He continued: “We work within many different sectors consisting of complex industrial, commercial, utilities such as waste/clean water treatment plants, high spec fit-outs, healthcare, educational, transport infrastructure, industrial warehouse and retail.  We have been working across various sectors with suitably trained and experienced personnel to meet to criteria of each of these complex projects.”

The Construction Industry as a whole has been affected by the recent economic downturn but there are positive signs of growth which is welcomed.

“We have been relatively fortunate over the past few years and have been able to steadily grow the business, whilst maintaining staff and good working relationships with all our clients and the companies whom we have worked with and continue to work with,” said Martin.

The company were extremely proud to announce that their Health & Safety Management System, Safe-T-Cert was accredited by the Construction Employers Federation and that they have maintained the highest possible grade (Grade A) for a third year running.

MDE’s proven expertise continues to deliver support and backup/maintenance to a number of clients.

Lidl Regional Distribution Centre – Full M&E Refurbishment of existing Distribution Centre, This was a £20m warehouse and distribution centre situated in Nutts Corner, Co Antrim. This project comprised of the combination of extending the building, modernising the warehouse and office block.  MDE was appointed to complete all the Mechanical and Electrical installations.

This was a  complex project as the majority of work was undertaken within a ‘live’ and extremely busy environment with zero disruption to the surrounding business operations.

This required precision management and coordination between the entire construction team to ensure that the project ran smoothly and efficiently whilst staying ahead of any issues and challenges and providing the solutions in close consultation with the client and wider design team to complete this project on time and within budget.

Moorehall Lodge – MDE were appointed to carry out the Design & Installation of Electrical Installation Services for both phase 1 and phase 2 of this new build construction which consisted of three floors.  It included the supply, delivery, off-loading, erection, connection, setting to work,  testing and commissioning of all equipment and materials as necessary for a complete, safe and satisfactory  installation associated state of the art healthcare premises.

MDE were able to offer the full package of solutions in-house, from initial design using the latest CAD systems through to installations.  We oversee this project all the way through from conception to completion.

Broadstone Headquarters, Phibsboro – MDE were appointed by Iarnród Éireann to complete the replacement of all existing life expired electrical installations with new in order to comply with current regulations and achieve fire cert status within this impressive building which dates back to 1934.

Martin said that “it was great to be involved in such an esteemed project and we are delighted to have been chosen as the main electrical contractor.”
