“Kerrigan Mechanical and Midland Renewables Heating & Plumbing are the trading names of Midland Heating & Plumbing Ltd. They are two separate divisions, yet go hand-in-hand,” Ronan Kerrigan explains. “We started off by catering for the domestic sector before expanding into the commercial market with Kerrigan Mechanical. The commercial end of the business has grown rapidly in recent years and that is where much of our focus is now concentrated.

“We have been the main mechanical contractors on several high-profile projects in the Dublin area and this is reflected in our growing workforce, while a pool of persons are available on a sub-contract basis. Furthermore, we enjoy an excellent working relationship with some of the country’s leading main contractors.

“We provide an exceptional service and have further plans for expansion.”.

Midland Heating & Plumbing Ltd moved into its state-of-the-art premises in Athboy Business Park in 2007 and recently rebranded its fleet of vans with a new eye-catching design which is intended to give the company a more contemporary look.

It has been a Safe-T-Cert certified company since November 2017. The need for a Safety Management System became paramount and was a huge focus within the company in recent years. Safe-T-Cert is a certification scheme designed for certifying the Safety Management Systems of contractors working in the construction industry. The Scheme’s objective is to improve health and safety management by providing objective standards and certifying those contractors whose safety management systems have been assessed and qualify – which ours has done so in the last two years.

“Health and Safety of our employees both on and offsite has always been at the heart of Kerrigan Mechanical – and a factor accessed on an ongoing basis,” states Danielle Dalton, Internal Health and Safety.

Danielle Dalton – started with the company in January 2017, meaning the HSMS system was created, assessed and qualified in a short space of time as Midland Heating and Plumbing Ltd. were first accredited by Safe-T in November 2017 – which would never have happened without a collective effort of both site teams and management.

Time, effort and dedication from Danielle and her colleagues both on and off site, allowed Kerrigan Mechanical to get such a system in place and maintain that system which is still in place today.

So what has been the secret to the company’s success? Financial controller Frank Kelly replies: “As a family-run business, we pride ourselves on quality workmanship, attention-to-detail and an ability to complete all projects on time and within budget. Ronan served his time as a plumber and is renowned for his hands-on approach. He’s also accessible to the customer which is something they appreciate and leads to lots of repeat work.”

Kerrigan Mechanical has evolved from Midland Renewables Heating & Plumbing which is one of the leading domestic heating and plumbing specialists in the Dublin and Leinster region.

Kerrigan Mechanical now has the experience, expertise and desire to reach new heights within the commercial and residential construction sector with quality, efficient and timely project completion.
