Jabes Interiors set the standards

12 Aug , 2020

Established in 2017, Jabes Interiors provides its clients with a high-quality service within the building refurbishment, fit out & new build sectors of the construction industry,

The experience that Managing Director Michael Keogh and Construction Director Des Gibbons bring the company is rivalled by few of their competitors.

Michael has worked for 2 of the country’s top tier main contractors to a senior level & Des has successfully managed his own construction company for several years. They both have long careers in the construction industry across most sectors, evident in their approach to their projects.

Michael took time out of his busy schedule to speak to us about the success of the company in such a short period of time.

“We entered the market in late 2017 mainly focusing on commercial fitouts but given our experience we are finding that we are securing drylining & new build projects along with fitout projects in equal measure. This variety of offering have allowed us to grow our client base and ensures a healthy order book into 2020. Our company has performed ahead of our 2019 projections enabling us to achieve several accomplishments and business milestones.

For example, We have earlier this year been successful in achieving a “Business All Star Accreditation” in recognition of the company’s performance, trust & customer centricity. Jabes, are one of the first construction company to achieve this accreditation.

Where possible we employ  direct site labour with support in the form of estimating, QS, procurement etc from our office in Sandyford. Although our site employees have extensive experience across all sectors of the construction industry, we are continually investing in them through focused training, upskilling and CPDs to ensure that they have the most up to date & relevant knowledge to meet project & industry challenges. Our office staff have worked across all sectors of the industry from main contracting to fit outs and bring a wealth of construction experience & knowledge with them to every project. Along with this we are backed up with an extensive supply chain that we have built a collaborative & flexible relationship with ensuring solid product & resource supply.

Jabes have a clear business strategy into the future with controlled growth & diversity to the fore.

Michael noted that their aim going forward was to grow the scale of the projects across all aspects of the business, although he stressed that this is something that will require patience.

“We must show a measured approach when managing growth. We are conscious of maintaining control of growth given the heated market experienced at present.

We are busy at present and are satisfied with the current workload and project scale. We are not over-extending ourselves. I think that is crucial in the management of any company. Maintaining the company’s commitments to our client base is key to successful growth and this can be challenging when starting out in business. Quality & successful delivery of our projects cannot be compromised for growth and this must be closely managed to ensure Jabes high standards are always maintained. Mr Keogh said

The company is planning ahead, they are looking at future proofing the business through off site production & manufacturing methods. This approach provides us with tighter quality control and fast delivery of compliant economic buildings. This is something that excites us as the industry generally moves towards these methods of construction.

Given the cyclical nature of our industry we have reviewed other options & revenue streams. Over time, we do see ourselves extending to other jurisdictions and have this year opened an office in London where we have worked on several smaller projects. We will increase our presence there in due course but our concentration at present is firmly on the Irish market.

A positive culture towards health safety exists within Jabes and this is promoted directly from the directors to their staff & sub-contractors. “We strive through the implementation of our documented procedures to mitigate risks across all aspects of our business.

Our Health & Safety management procedures ensures best practise is adhered to and that through ongoing external & internal audits we ensure a safe work environment for our employees, contractors and  clients alike.

Along with safety Jabes are committed to keeping the environmental impact of their works to an absolute minimum and as such they actively seek out sustainable solutions/materials to manage the reduction of site  waste. They are currently reviewing fast, compliant, economic methods of construction that will assist them in diversifying within the industry in turn lead to reduced waste & minimise the impact of their projects on the environment.

We believe that a solid reputation is built on project delivery through trust and transparent interaction with client & design teams alike. This approach must be consistent across the company from tendering stage, contract award, project delivery and beyond. Therefore, we are continually reviewing & interrogating our systems and project results in order to achieve where possible improved performance project after project. Mr Keogh said

We have completed several high-profile projects to date and have received positive feedback for our clients on completion of these projects. We have a busy lead into Christmas this year with several projects being handed over prior to the break.  This is perfect timing as we have secured & are due to commence further projects in January 2020.
