If you can dream it, TOC Construction can build it

Tom O’Connor of TOC Construction is dedicated to maintaining their reputation as a company that can be trusted to get the job done. He understands the importance of making a good first impression because a large volume of their business stems from customers who come back to them time after time.

Working on all projects, big and small, TOC Construction are proud to serve the Leinster region with quality building services.

Their long list of valued clients appreciate their professional approach to their work and the quality workmanship demonstrated in every project they have completed.

TOC Construction specialise in domestic new builds, extensions and refurbs, commercial, retail and office fitouts, industrial, warehouse and factory units. They are experts in low energy and passive construction (Certified Passive house builders).

The “passive house” standard is a science-based construction standard, created to all but eliminate the need for heating systems in buildings, meaning miniscule heating bills while simultaneously ensuring high comfort levels, indoor air quality and durability.

Examples of their exemplary workmanship can be found throughout the Model County and beyond.

“Back in January, we finished a new dialysis unit in Wexford hospital,” explained Managing Director Tom O’Connor who established the Kilmuckridge-based company in 2013. “It was a high profile job and we had two contracts on it – we did both the shell and core and fit-out which was a high end medical fit out.

“Another very challenging job we have successfully completed in the recent past was a 15,000 sq ft retail unit on the Main Street in Wexford.”

After spending 10 years on building sites in London, Tom returned home to Ireland in 1996 and got involved in a partnership (OCM Construction) before going out on his own five years ago.

Today, he is ably assisted in the day-to-day running of TOC Construction by his wife Mary who manages the busy office while the company has a workforce of 8 full-time employees who have the skills, experience and talent to deliver the results their clients require. They realise that successful delivery of a construction project is all about teamwork.

Tom is happy to report that the ever-burgeoning company’s services are very much in demand at this point in time.

“We’re currently working on 28 house development in Enniscorthy which we intend to have completed by the end of the year and we’re also working on two equestrian centres in County Wicklow. Our workload is split 50-50 between domestic and commercial work,” he revealed.

So, what are the key attributes that TOC Construction prides itself on?

“Customer satisfaction is our number one priority,” Tom replied without hesitation. “We get the job done, on time and to budget. We carry out a lot of repeat work because the people we do work for appreciate our high quality workmanship.”

As is being experienced on the ground throughout the sector, there has been a significant recovery in the construction sector in recent times and confidence is returning to the market. Tom says he is threading carefully, however, when the conversation turned to the possible future expansion of the business.

“We’re trying to be a bit cautious,” he pointed out. “Our turnover is up significantly on last year but that doesn’t mean that we are about to go mad. Our intention is to keep the company going at the level it is at now.

“We’re very happy with the way things are going and very optimistic about the future. There are still challenges out there, you have to keep costs under control while labour is also a big issue. So, we’re going to take it slowly and we hope to keep things ticking along nicely.”

Whether you are looking for a new build or refurbishment, TOC Construction’s highly skilled tradesmen are ready to get started. They are known for completing projects on time and on budget whilst minimising disruption for their clients.

At all times, they strive to work with and keep good working relationships with their clients by fully listening to and understanding their different needs.
