Greenline goes from strength to strength

31 Mar , 2020

In just two years, Greenline Plumbing Supplies Ltd has established itself as one of the leading plumbing and heating supplier in Co. Meath and beyond. This was reflected in it being honoured with the ‘Customer Service’ accolade at Ireland’s Plumbing & Heating Awards 2019 which were presented at a gala ceremony in the Citywest Hotel, Dublin on September 13 last.

It’s great recognition for us,” store manager Ray Purfield says of being feted at the awards which recognise the best of Ireland’s plumbing and heating industry.

“Two years ago, Greenline Plumbing Supplies was set up with the aim of giving customers the best service and product range at the keenest prices. The response has been amazing and business is flying. Starting out with just two staff, we now have seven and also have three vans on the road which deliver to building sites throughout the region. Our growth has surpassed all expectations.”

Catering specifically for the needs of plumbers, Greenline Plumbing Supplies opened for business in Mullaghboy Industrial Estate, Navan on July 24 2017.

It was born out of the idea that customer service and product quality are the two most important factors in gaining repeat business and delivering customer satisfaction. Along with great prices, this was an unbeaten combination in the minds of the company’s founders David Bates, Colm McMahon and Ray Purfield.

“David and Colm have been in business together for a long time and as plumbers themselves, they know exactly what plumbers want from their supplier. Having previously worked for Navan Hire and Commons Hardware for 17 years combined, I was well-known in the trade. We hit the ground running and haven’t looked back,” explains Ray, who started his working life as a jockey.

Whether it’s delivering a bag of fittings to sites on schedule or designing whole heating or renewable energy systems, Greenline Plumbing Supplies delivers a quick turnaround for any project, large or small. The company caters for any situation and provides a wide range of products from leading manufacturers, including sanitary ware, gas / oil boilers, heat pumps and solar panels. Its experienced staff are always happy to share their knowledge and offer advice to customers.

“Between the five of us, we have a wealth of knowledge that has been built up through years of experience in the hardware, plumbing and hea
hardware, plumbing and heating trade trade. Customer service is the most important aspect of the business. We pride ourselves on offering the customer not only a fantastic range of products, but professional advice that you just don’t get from other suppliers,” Ray continues.

One of Greenline Plumbing Supplies’ biggest selling points is its location just off the M3 Motorway.

“We get a lot of ‘early birds’ on their way to work in Dublin. We’re just two minutes off the motorway. They usually phone in their order the evening before so all that they have to do is collect and go. We also have ample car parking space for our customers.”

Greenline Plumbing Supplies is proud to represent leading brands such as DeWalt, Milwaukee, REMS, Makita and Bosch. It stocks and supplies boilers from Grant, Firebird, Worcester, Veissmann and Idealogic, and sanitary ware from Sonas Bathrooms. When it comes to heating, the company stocks and supplies a full range of radiators, cylinders, pumps, booster pumpers and expansion vessels, water heaters and underfloor heating systems as well as all the latest heating controls.

The Climate Action Plan recently announced by the Government, which aims to reduce emissions and make Ireland carbon neutral by 2050, will lead to a much greater demand for heat pumps in the future. A heat pump is a device that transfers heat energy from a heat source such as the ground, where a ground source heat pump is used, or from the air where an air source heat pump is used. The generated heat in turn provides a home heating source for hot water, underfloor heating, radiators etc. Heat pumps are a very convenient and incredibly cost-effective way of heating your home or premises while also being exceptionally environmentally friendly.

“Renewable energy is a rapidly growing area and we can design our renewable systems to suit each and every individual’s needs. We have acquired vast knowledge of renewable systems through years of experience with onsite surveys a special service we offer. We can visit you on site to advise on the best system to suit your needs and to ensure you have the best system for your project.”

As Greenline Plumbing Supplies’ client- base and reputation continue to grow, Ray says the company is indebted to those who have supported them to date.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their support over the last two years. We have a huge amount of repeat business which is always a good sign. We’re attracting new customers every day and that’s thanks to word of mouth and recommendations from existing customers,” the affable manager concludes.

Ray is also full of praise for the Greenline team which includes Donal Reilly (assistant manager), Alan Keating (sales), Carol Hardiman (accounts), Noel
Faulkner (driver) and David Bates (sales rep).
