Gaffney Mechanical opens new Dublin office

These are exciting times for Gaffney Mechanical Ltd which has just moved into a new office in Dublin’s Rosemount Business Park and is involved in a number of major residential developments in the capital.

Established in 1999, Gaffney Mechanical is a leading provider of mechanical, electrical and maintenance services with offices in Dublin and Carlanstown, Co. Meath, which is the home village of founder and managing director Niall Gaffney. The company recently relocated from Ballycoolin, Dublin 15 to a bigger and better office in the nearby Rosemount Business Park, Dublin 11, marking another important milestone in its successful story.

Gaffney Mechanical boasts an enviable reputation for high quality installations with experience across all industry sectors, including commercial, education, healthcare, hotel and leisure, public sector and residential. The firm works with main contractors, direct client contracts and through third parties, and has gained a high level of knowledge and expertise in delivering a wide range of complex mechanical engineering projects.

In the education sector, Gaffney has installed new heating systems and carried out associated works at Boyne Community College, Trim and Longwood National School (both for CF Hoey Construction), St. Anne’s School, The Curragh for Weslin Construction, St. Joseph’s and St. Earnan’s NS, Rathnew for Glasgiven, Glasnevin Educate Together for Burns Construction, Ballyfermot Library for C&A Excavations, Blackrock College for Merrion Construction, Blanchardstown IT for Bam, NUI Maynooth for Gowna Construction, Dublin Civic Museum for Irish Georgian Society, Kevin Street Library for Dublin City Council and numerous projects for Trinity College Dublin .

Healthcare projects have included the Coombe Hospital for Dunwoody & Dobson, St. James’ Hospital for Bam, Residential Care Unit, Lusk and St. Ita’s Hospital, Portrane (both for HSE), National Maternity Hospital for Bam. In the public sector, Gaffney Mechanical worked on the An Bord Pleanala building in Dublin city centre in conjunction with Gannon Homes, while its portfolio of residential works includes Belltree, Clongriffin and Miller’s Glen in Swords for Gannon Homes, Piper’s Hill, Naas and St. Marnock’s Bay in Portmarnock for Ballymore Properties, Laraghcon in Lucan and Rokeby Park in Kildare town for Michael O’Flynn Developments and Albany House, Killiney for Cairn Homes.

Currently, Gaffney Mechanical is working for Cairn Homes on the prestigious Marianella residential development close to Rathgar village. This leafy Victorian suburb is one of Dublin’s finest addresses and Cairn Homes intends for it to be one of the most sought after, desirable and exclusive addresses in the capital. The 211-unit development will consist predominantly of large two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses as well as four and five bedroom houses.

Gaffney Mechanical will also work alongside Cairn Homes on their upcoming 6 Hanover Quay development. This is a new luxury contemporary residential apartment building consisting of 122 units with a unique high-profile identity on the Dockland waterfront in a new urban quarter location in Dublin. The development directly addresses three new landscaped streets which connect the Waterfront and Chocolate Park, and comprises four new seven-to-eight storey buildings arranged around a central landscaped courtyard.

Another ongoing project which Gaffney Mechanical is associated with is a 10-storey apartment block incorporating 68 apartments at The Maple, Beacon South Quarter beside the Beacon Hospital in Sandyford. The scope of works includes the installation of a new heating system, plumbing work, sanitary ware and mechanical ventilation. Walls Construction is the main contractor on this impressive development.
