Contaminated Soil Services & Site Remediation

Enva’s Portlaoise site is Ireland’s only EPA licenced facility for the treatment of contaminated soil. It is licenced to accept and treat soils contaminated with a range of pollutants such as heavy metals, diesel range organics, petrol range organics, mineral oil etc. Services offered for contaminated soil and site remediation include:

Bio-remediation (Treatment) – where specially cultured living organisms are inoculated and utilised to remove pollutants, including hydrocarbons, from soil. This treatment process can be carried out ex-situ at Enva’s purpose-built Portlaoise facility where the basic process consists of a number of different stages.

Stabilisation – a chemical and physical immobilisation technique incorporating the use of specially formulated reagents which can be applied for the effective remediation of contaminated soils and groundwater. This technology has been implemented successfully for gas works sites, petrol stations, industrial sites, etc.

Washing and Physico-Chemico Treatment –utilisation of specialist washing and treatment plant to separate soil into its constituents fractions and produced clean aggregates for onward recovery.

Overall Site Remediation – Remediation of contaminated sites including site investigation, remediation options assessment, logistics management and coordination of compliance requirements with relevant legislation, direct export, in-situ or ex-situ treatment .
