€3.5 billion yearly expected to be allocated to infrastructural investment plan

Minister for Public Expenditure Brendan Howlin is expected to announce in the coming weeks the allocation of the Government’s infrastructural investment plan. Large scale projects in housing, roads, education, communication and flood prevention are to be revealed which form part of the State’s capital plan.

Roads and social housing are expected to feature heavily in the plan, with reports circulating that a Luas Link from Dublin City to Dublin Airport could be among the projects, which are scheduled to run until 2020.

School building and broadband improvements are also expected to feature in the plan.
