If you’re looking to build your ideal home or thinking of extending or renovating your existing dwelling, then Noel Kelly Construction Ltd can turn your dream into a reality.

Noel Kelly Construction is a leading family-run construction and building company based in Sligo. Specialising in new builds, extensions, renovations and external insulation (it is in the process of becoming SEAI grant approved), the company has earned an outstanding reputation for constructing beautiful, high-quality homes and is also engaged in commercial projects. Fully insured and certified by CIRI, CIF and Homebond, Noel Kelly Construction provides a range of services to clients who want to construct a new home or alter, extend or improve the space they live in.

Owner Noel Kelly learned his trade as a block layer with the well-known Sligo building firm Kilcawley Construction before becoming a foreman and working on a number of large public sector projects such as schools and hospitals. He went out on his own in 1998 and hasn’t looked back since.

“I have worked in construction for 35 years,” Noel explains.

“After being with Kilcawley Construction for over 10 years, I needed a new challenge, so I decided to go out on my own as a blockwork sub-contractor. That led to me doing extensions and renovations, and eventually to doing one-off builds. I have a wealth of experience in the sector and am committed to superior quality and results. No job is too big or too small.”

Superior workmanship, attention to detail, value-for-money and a commitment to working closely with clients to deliver total satisfaction are the hallmarks of Noel Kelly Construction. Health & Safety is at the core of the business, and never more so than in this Covid-19 age. From concept to completion, Noel and his team of top-class tradesmen are with you every step of the way, ensuring that your new project is designed and built to your specific needs and that there are no hidden or extra costs involved.

Whether your next project is a new build, extension or renovation, Noel’s one-stop-shop approach will ensure that both the design and building processes are smooth, comfortable and hassle-free. The Sligo contractor’s reputation for quality construction and ability to complete projects on time and within the agreed budget is borne out by the high volume of repeat business and referrals it receives from satisfied customers.

“We have a large and loyal customer-base in the Sligo area. We try to stay as close to home as possible,” the affable builder continues.

“We employ five people directly who are a mix of carpenters, block layers and plasterers. We sub-contact the electrical and plumbing to the same tried and trusted people. Willie McTiernan of McTiernan Brothers Plant Hire usually looks after the groundworks side of things for us.

“By employing highly-skilled people, working closely with our architects and designers, and using only the very best building products, we’re able to deliver the highest quality construction to our clients.”

Noel Kelly Construction enjoys an excellent working relationship with some of Ireland’s leading architects, including McGarry-Moon and Davitt Plan & Design. McGarry-Moon is an award-winning practice located in Kilrea, Co. Derry and specialising in contemporary, sustainable, environmentally-conscious architecture which is of its time and place. Davitt Plan & Design is a multi-disciplined planning / engineering consultancy firm based in Drumkeerin, Co. Leitrim.

“We collaborate with Stephen Moon of McGarry-Moon on a lot of high-end residential projects. We worked together last year on transforming ‘The Moorings’ restaurant on the Promenade in Rosses Point into a dwelling house and holiday apartments.

“We’re currently working alongside McGarry-Moon on a large extension and renovation to the Voya Seaweed Baths in Strandhill which will double the capacity of its treatment rooms and seaweed baths. We recently handed over a new home in Ballintogher which was designed by Francis Davitt of Davitt Plan & Design. We also completed a barn conversion in Ballygawley, which we were very happy with.”

The Covid crisis, and the delays it has caused to building projects, has led to a surge in residential property prices across the country as supply struggles to meet demand. To compound matters, the cost of building materials sky-rocketed during the pandemic and this is being acutely felt in the new build sector.

“Material shortages are a huge problem at the moment. Every builder is in the same boat. Houses are built to such a high standard nowadays that you can’t afford to be without any of the materials you need. Everything has gone up in price which is a further burden on our clients,” continues Noel, who is married to Joanne and has four children, Danielle, Laura, Megan and Shane.

“But they can rest assured that we will do our best for them. We’re always at the end of the phone and willing to go the extra mile for our customers. And if we can make a saving along the way, we will.”

Passionate about construction, Noel would like to take this opportunity to thank his clients, suppliers, sub-contractors and design teams for their continued support.
