22 Mar , 2018

Casey Doors is a leading manufacturer of high-quality patented doorsets in Ireland and the UK.

“Supported by primary fire test evidence and accreditation, the company’s doors surpass all others. When people think of high-spec fire doors, they think of us. Our name is synonymous with high-quality performance doorsets.” So says Brian Lanigan, managing director of Casey Doors, which delivers a complete range of premier fire-rated internally framed flush doors in all sizes, finishes and configurations to the healthcare, educational, commercial, pharmaceutical and public sectors.

The company was set up in 1981 by Eugene Casey and has been headed up by Brian since October 2013 when it relocated from Baldoyle to a purpose-built facility in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin. Employing 35 people, Casey Doors also has a London office to cater for its growing UK customer-base.

Excellence in produce design and performance is at the heart of what Casey Doors does. When developing its products, performance, budget and deadline are taken into consideration. Doors are manufactured to a patented design which brings further unique benefits when you choose Casey Doors.

The company is the only independently tested and certified door manufacturer exporting to the UK. Casey Doors works closely with architects, specifiers and contractors at the early stages of design and planning because it knows that every building project is different. By understanding the needs of its customers, the award-winning manufacturer combines its expertise, craftsmanship and attention to detail to ensure that its bespoke doors are delivered to schedule, specification and budget.

Innovation is at the core of Casey Doors’ business. The company invests in its facilities, staff training and the very latest in production technology. Quality in design and manufacturing has been at the forefront of its thinking for over 35 years. This approach has driven the company forward – to meet and exceed the expectations of the industry’s most discerning clients. The company allows you to create the environment you desire, safe in the knowledge that its products are tested, certified and perform.

In short, Casey Doors is the perfect partner for all your doorset needs.

“Our products are unrivalled in the Irish market,” Brian points out. “They include steel frame, veneer, laminate and Mediform doorsets. Our F-Dor internally framed door design, which is unique to us, ensures that our doorsets withstand the test of the most rigorous of environments.

“Our doorsets are the most durable on the market and meet both BS and EN standards. They are independently tested to achieve Severe Duty classification, which is the highest and most rigorous testing standard for doors with the British Standard. The reassurance of Severe Duty construction enables doors to be used in the most demanding environments such as hospitals and schools where they are most likely to be subject to heavy traffic and abuse.”

The Casey Doors F-Dor internally framed door design, combined with a steel frame, is the most suitable doorset solution for ultra clean and high-performance environments that require hygiene and durability. This patented product has been supplied to the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors for over a decade and, in that time, the Dublin-based firm has formed an exclusive partnership with Nordform, a specialist steel frame manufacturer.

As with all its ranges, the manufacturer carries primary fire test evidence to FD30 and FD60, as tested and certified by Exova Warrington Fire. Casey Doors also carry primary acoustic test evidence as tested and certified by Lorient. Both the fire and acoustic tests have been carried out and certified with unbackfilled steel frames, which is a unique performance attribute to the company.

Casey Doors can supply steel frames with its complete range of door leaf finishes, in all of its performance standards. This includes fire performances, severe duty durability and lead lining to radiological areas.

The company has developed a strong presence in the Irish and UK healthcare sectors. Supported by its knowledge of the sector, Casey Doors designs and manufactures patented anti-microbial hygiene doorsets for healthcare facilities. They meet the most stringent clinical hygiene standards set out in the Health Building Notes and individual infection control units. The doorsets withstand the daily impacts from trollies and beds, while still maintaining the hygienic requirements that the environment demands.

Back in the mid-1990s, Casey Doors supplied 4,500 doors to the newly-constructed Tallaght Hospital and it has since supplied thousands more to several other hospitals on both sides of the Irish Sea.

“Here in Ireland, we supplied 2,500 doors to Omagh Hospital, 2,500 doors to Ulster Hospital, 2,200 to the Mater Hospital, 2,200 to St. Vincent’s Private Hospital and a further 1,000 to the Nutley Ward wing at St. Vincent’s University Hospital. The main contractors on those projects were McLaughlin & Harvey, Graham Construction / BAM, Sisk and John Paul Construction respectively,” Brian explains.

“We’ve also supplied doors to the St. Thomas’ and Queen Mary Hospitals in London for various contractors. We’ve built a strong working relationship with both the HSE and NHS.”

Casey Doors has also been long established in the educational, commercial and public sectors. It has designed bespoke doorset solutions for the full range of education buildings, including pre-school nurseries, special needs schools and third level research laboratory facilities.

The company’s depth of knowledge in the sector allows it to make and deliver innovative solutions like Safehinge anti-finger trap and Mediform anti-microbial doorsets. IT Sligo and The Wellcome Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine at Queen’s University Belfastare just two of the third level institutes where you will find Casey Doors doorsets.

They can also be found at the Grand Canal Theatre, Riverside One, Fingal County Council HQ, Temple Street Children’s University Hospital, National Opera House in Wexford, DLR Lexicon and at the National Gallery of Ireland.
