Build your dream home with a trusted team

3 Dec , 2021

Kenber Developments has been delivering high-quality, energy efficient homes and projects to clients since 2004. Specialising in new builds, extensions and renovations, the Mullingar-based builder can turn your dream into a reality.

Fronted by Ken Berry, the company has earned an outstanding reputation for constructing beautiful bespoke one-off homes, and for extending and renovating existing homes to the highest standards. Fully insured and a CIF member, Kenber Developments employs four people directly and works mainly in the Dublin and midlands areas. Over the years, the contractor has enjoyed an excellent working relationship with sub-contractors who share its values of quality workmanship carried out in a hassle-free environment.

As well as constructing many new private homes, renovations and extensions, Kenber has completed projects in the public sector ranging from schools to commercial fit-out work.

“I have 25 years’ experience in the trade which stands to me,” Ken reveals.

“I served my time as a carpenter with a neighbour of mine called Mick Casey who was involved in all aspects of carpentry and building. I learned a lot from him.”

Ken has put together a small, but committed and experienced team to cater for all your building needs. “They’re top-class,” he says of his staff.

“We do the groundworks, block-laying, carpentry and roofing ourselves, and sub-contract the rest to the same tried and trusted tradesmen. By employing high-skilled people, collaborating with our architects, engineers and design teams, and using only the very best building products, we’re able to deliver the highest quality construction to our clients.”

The new homes Kenber builds typically range from 2,500 sq. ft. to 3,500 sq. ft in size and have an ‘A’ BER rating. Superior workmanship, attention to detail, value-for-money and a commitment to working closely with clients to deliver total satisfaction are the hallmarks of this well-run company. Health & Safety is at the core of the business, and never more so than in this COVID-19 age. From concept to completion, Ken and his team are with you every step of the way, ensuring that your new project is designed and built to your specific needs, and that there are no hidden or extra costs involved.

Whether your next project is a new build, extension or renovation, Kenber’s one-stop shop approach will ensure that both the design and building processes are smooth, comfortable and stress-free. The Westmeath contractor’s reputation for quality construction and ability to complete projects on time and within the agreed budget is borne out by the high volume of repeat business and referrals it receives from satisfied customers.

“Our main objective is to deliver high-quality construction work on budget and on time. Our strong project management skill set ensures all stakeholders and contractors are kept up-to-date and timelines are met.”

Kenber is experienced in building new homes from start to finish. Its new build services include build, electricity, plumbing, carpentry, completely finished floors and kitchen fitting. All homes are finished to exceptional standards and left with a turnkey finish. You will not have to lift a finger until it’s time to move your new furniture in where you hire the Kenber team!

When it comes to extensions, Kenber Developments will look at your available space, your requirements and utilities, and propose the best designs and concepts to get the best solution possible. Quality is key when building home extensions, ensuring there are no flaws in the build or connections to the existing building.

Refurbishing an older home, retrofitting the building to include the latest building technologies, the contractor will project-manage your renovations from start to finish. Kenber’s services on residential renovations are of the highest quality. In addition, the company has extensive experience in carrying out commercial contracting projects, covering all kinds of requirements. By working in conjunction with architects, engineers and sub-contractors, it can fulfil your commercial building requirements on time and within budget.

Kenber Developments has completed numerous one-off house builds over the past 17 years with the latest taking place in Ashbourne. The company is also currently carrying out three renovation projects in the Mullingar area.

“Most of our renovation, extension and retrofit work is in Dublin. We get a fair bit of work in the Ballsbridge, Sandymount, Ranelagh and Rathmines areas through word of mouth and recommendations from architects and engineers we deal with. We listen to our clients’ needs and will always go the extra mile for them,” Ken explains.

The COVID crisis, and the delays it has caused to building projects, has led to an increase in residential property prices across the country as supply struggles to meet demand. To compound matters, the cost of building materials sky-rocketed during the pandemic and this is being acutely felt in the new build sector.

“The rising costs of materials is the biggest issue at the moment. Steel, timber and insulation prices have gone through the roof. We are already noticing the size of new houses coming down as a result.”

When he’s not on the building site, Ken can usually be found down in his local GAA pitch coaching teams. An All-Ireland minor football medallist with Westmeath in 1995, the father-of-three is deeply involved in St Mary’s, Rochfortbridge and co-managed their ladies football team to the last two county senior championships.

In summary, if you’re thinking of building your dream home or looking to extend or renovate your existing dwelling, look no further than Kenber Developments.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers, suppliers, sub-contractors and design teams for their continued support,” he concludes.
